19th july 2023 -pre-season going well ahead of EV double header
Arnold Town Reserves have made a strong start to their pre-season schedule with a 5-2 win at Ollerton Town Res followed by a highly creditable 1-1 draw at AC United who currently reside two divisions above the Yellows in the Notts Senior League set up.
James Mellors, a product of the Arna youth system put in an impressive performance at Ollerton getting on the score sheet and late addition to the squad last season Lewis Scott was on target against AC Utd. The Reserves form part of a double header at the Valley this Saturday (22nd) when they welcome Wollaton Res for a 2pm ko. |
1st july 2023 - reserves feature in hucknall charity event
Arnold Reserve Manager Ashley Marshall had nothing but praise after the double game charity event held at Hucknall Town's new ground with a number of his squad actively involved.
Marshall was part of the NSL's management team and said "All the Arnold lads did the club proud today. In the first game NSL's representatives won 2-0 against Hucknall Town's Res with last season's top goal scorer Kian Leavesley getting on the score sheet. In the second match two big factors kicked in with fatigue effecting some lads playing 120mins and also their step 5 opponents proving their quality as the NSL team went down 0-9 to a strong Hucknall Town first team squad. Representing Arnold were Kian Leavesley, Liam Cunningham, Jacob Marshall, Truzzel Spencer, Athanasi Georgiou, Javante McGregor, Riley Whitelocks and first team player coach Lenny Jenkins." Ashley was also appreciative of the great support the Arnold lads received from the small group of Arna fans that came down to watch the event. |
30th june 2023 - reserves current pre season schedule
30th june 2023 - Reserves remain in expanded division three
Following their 4th place finish last term the Eagles second string will remain in a Notts Senior League Division Three which currently is on course to expand from 13 to 18 teams.
Ashley Marshall's men may have tailed away slightly as 2022/23 came to a conclusion but there remained plenty to be proud of in their final league record of:-
P24 W14 D5 L5 GF73 GA35 GD38.
Meanwhile despite losing promoted sides Southwell City Dev and AFC Colsterworth to Div Two it must be said that the following constitution for the NSL 3rd Division as announced at last night's NSL AGM appears to have gathered together a challenging proposition for the Eagles for the forthcoming campaign:-
Arnold Town Reserves
AFC Bull Farm
AFC Styring (New)
Beeston Reserves (moved up from development division)
Calverton MW Reserves (New)
Eastwood & Kimberley
Elston United
Gedling Southbank (New)
Langwith White Star (New)

Nottingham Greens (New)
Pass Move Grin Engage
Pegasus (from development division)
